The clash animal is the opposite sign in the 12-branch cycle. Sha is the traditional direction label associated with the day.

The day officer is one of 12 almanac labels, calculated from the day branch and solar-month branch. For these daily labels, the solar month changes on the solar-term date. Officers do not change this finder’s activity-matching rule.

How Auspicious Date Finding Works

Yi (宜) and Ji (忌) in the Chinese almanac

The traditional Chinese almanac (通胜 / 黄历) labels each day with activities that are considered favourable (宜) or best avoided (忌). This finder scans a six-month window and lists days whose 宜 terms match the event you selected - wedding, moving, renovation, and so on.

How to use this date finder

Choose a start month. The calendar shows the next six months and highlights matching auspicious days. Then enter your zodiac animal or birth year to hide days that clash with your sign (Liu Chong). Leap months are included when they fall in range. Export the filtered dates as a calendar file, or share the link with family. Switch to another event type below if you are planning a different ceremony or project.

Personal clash (Liu Chong, 六冲)

A printed almanac lists the same lucky days for everyone. In traditional practice you also avoid days whose earthly branch clashes with your year animal - the six opposing pairs (Rat–Horse, Ox–Goat, Tiger–Monkey, Rabbit–Rooster, Dragon–Dog, Snake–Pig). A day that is 宜 for your event can still be a personal clash. The filter on this page applies that check so the highlighted dates are both almanac-favourable and compatible with your sign.

Cultural guidance, not a guarantee

Almanac dates are a folk tradition for choosing ceremony and project days. They are not medical, legal, or financial advice. Always confirm practical constraints - venue, weather, local holidays - independently.

History of the Imperial Chinese Almanac (Tong Sing)

The Chinese Almanac (黄历 / 通胜, Huangli or Tong Sing) has been compiled by imperial astronomical boards for over 2,000 years. Originally restricted to royal court astrologers during the Han and Tang dynasties to guide imperial sacrifices and agricultural labor, block-printed almanacs became widely distributed among the public during the Song and Ming dynasties to select auspicious dates for weddings, groundbreaking, travel, and major life endeavors.

Auspicious date finder FAQ

Labels such as 求医 (seeking a practitioner), 治病 (treating illness) and 针灸 (acupuncture) record traditional activity categories. They describe historical calendar customs, not medical evidence.

Arrange appointments and treatment according to clinical needs and advice from qualified professionals. Do not postpone care because of an almanac label or zodiac clash.

The filter applies the traditional Liu Chong relationship between an animal and the day branch. It illustrates that cultural rule; it cannot assess symptoms, treatment safety or clinical outcomes.

The .ics file contains dates matching the selected historical activity labels and optional cultural filter. Treat it as a record of almanac entries, not a medical appointment plan.
