Hung Kings Commemorative Day (Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) honors the legendary 18 Hùng Kings of the Hồng Bàng dynasty (2879 BCE – 258 BCE), credited as the founding fathers of Van Lang and the Vietnamese nation. In 2012, UNESCO inscribed the ancestral worship of the Hùng Kings as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
